Frederick Farrar Obituary

Frederick Leo Farrar, affectionately known as Freddie, was born to the late Sallie Farrar on June 9, 1960 in Paterson, New Jersey. He passed away on March 2, 2025, in Columbia, South Carolina surrounded by his loving family.

Freddie, who grew up in the vibrant city of Paterson, New Jersey, received his education at Eastside High School, laying a strong foundation for his future. In 1989, he moved with his wife and children to Camden, South Carolina, embracing new beginnings and the promise of a brighter future for his family. Freddie was a retired Brick Mason and Landscaper, whose craftsmanship is evident throughout the entirety of South Carolina. His contributions to the field has left a lasting impact on the landscape of the region.

Some of the monumental sites he helped build were on the Fort Jackson Military Base, Shandon Baptist Church in Columbia, SC, and The Westbound I-20 Rest Area in Camden, SC.

Freddie’s passion for gardening and landscaping inspired others, as he found joy and fulfillment in nurturing his yard. Freddie was deeply loved in the Kirkwood and Camden community, where many saw him as a beloved uncle figure. His warmth and kindness created strong connections with those around him, and he will always hold a special place in their hearts.

Freddie was  deeply family-oriented and cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. His commitment to fostering strong relationships reflected the love and warmth he brought into their lives. He is survived by his Wife, Aleatrice Carlos-Farrar, his daughters, Sheila Farrar and Zoraida Morales-Robles (Cesar Robles); his sons, Ghuneem Wilson (Katherine Profit) and Franklin Alexander; and his niece (whom he held in regard as a daughter) Janice Butler (Tabien Butler). His Grandchildren: Dasani Planno, Ghuneem Armstrong, Maalik Robles, Tevin Eley, Xzavier Alexander, TreQuan Grimes, Zaya Robles, Bob Samuel, Jordan Wilson, Marquise Wilson, Sariyah Eley, Khloe Profit, and Skylynn Lewis. Freddie is also survived by his 4 brothers, Ronald “Johnny” Benson Farrar (Catherine Farrar), Wilbert Bernard Farrar, Rodney Fitzgerald Farrar, and Charles Jones. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends, including his Best Friends Larry & Treecie, Gregory Brown, and Saul Brevard. Preceded in death are his mother, Sallie Farrar; his brothers Robert James Farrar, Isaac Cornelius Farrar, Donald Fremont Farrar, & Kenneth Hubbard; and his grandson Isaiah Robles.
