Albert Stuckey was born January 25, 1944 to the late Jessie Cook and Hosea Stuckey in Lee County. On March 16,2025 he took his eternal rest.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of over fifty years, Johnnie Mae Stuckey; brothers Freddy, Asbury and Hosea Stuckey; and his sisters Bertha Nelson and Maenell Mack.

Dad was a graduate of Dennis High School. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. He was always known for his hard work and dedication. He retired from Dupont after many years, but didn’t stop there. He was a jack of all trades, even after retirement. His jobs included being a licensed insurance agent, security guard for Coker College, correctional officer for Lee County Correctional Institute and even a bus driver for Lee and Kershaw County schools.

Our dad’s journey here on Earth was marked by helping others. He was well-known for assisting many individuals within the community with winning their disability cases. His passion for helping people and working hard knew no bounds. He also served as the family’s electrician and advisor on legal matters.

He enjoyed attending church, and Walker Texas Ranger was his favorite television show. He loved his suits, fashionable attire and was known for his outspokenness and ability to clear the room. Regardless of how he communicated how he felt, he had a rare gift for making others smile and laugh while doing it, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed his path.

Today we ask that you remember him not for the way his life ended, but for the way it was lived, and the profound impact it had on the lives on those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Dad is survived by his children: Anita (Floyd) Dubose, Alan (Sandra) Stuckey, Timothy Stuckey, Yolonda (Darrell) Hart. Catrina (Ronnie) Palmer Pinkston, Corey (Tracey) Palmer, Tryshawn Palmer, Alfred Demetrius Palmer, Nikki Palmer, and Yolanda Yvette Bowman. He also leaves behind his siblings whom he loved dearly: Hattie Nelson, Edith Sumpter, Jannie Heriot, and Josephine Wade; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Although our dad’s physical presence may no longer grace our lives, his spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. May his memory be a blessing, and may we carry forth his legacy of being dedicated and relentless in our pursuits to be great and help others with our God given gifts.
