Charles Gandy

Charles Gandy, age 92, of Kershaw, S.C. passed away, Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Prisma Health Richland, Columbia, S.C. Born in Kershaw, S.C. he was a son of the late Walter Gandy and Minnie Taylor Gandy. He was a former employee of Thomas and Betts. Mr. Gandy was a United States Army veteran and a member of Kershaw Second Baptist Church. He was an avid gardener. He will be remembered for growing wonderful blueberries and helping people pick them. He was proud of his family. He loved his wife, grandchildren and family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Mary Lou Williams Gandy; his daughter, Patricia Ann Crout and her husband, Rick; his daughter-in-law, Susan Gandy, his grandsons, Josh Gandy and Dylan Gandy and his wife, Kendra and his sister, Ruth (Gene) Lawhorn. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Mike Gandy and siblings, Carl, Coleman, Earl, Essie, Jessie, Mary, Mazie, Myrtle, Otis, Ralph, Vera and Ward.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, March 30, 2025, 2025 at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends Sunday, March 30, 2025, prior to the funeral service beginning at 2:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

A private family burial will be held in Abney Baptist Church Cemetery.

Memorial remembrances may be made to Kershaw Second Baptist Church, 7737 Kershaw Camden Highway, Kershaw, S.C. 29067.
