Betty Ann Joyner Sullivan, age 83, of Bethune, S.C., passed away, Tuesday morning, May 16, 2023, in MUSC-Kershaw Health Medical Center, Camden, S.C. Born in Bethune, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Charlie Wilson Joyner and Lola Mae Mosley Joyner. Mrs. Sullivan was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. She loved to read, listen to Gaither gospel music, and work puzzle books.
She is survived by 3 children, Jeannie Cannon of Bethune, S.C., Janet (Daniel) McCormack of Mount Joy, PA, and Rev. John W. (Cecilia) Sullivan of Easley, S.C.; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Juanita (W.T.) Lowery of Pittsboro, N.C., Margie (Bruce) Phillips of Kershaw, S.C. and Barbara Newman of Camden, S.C. and 2 brothers, Joel Joyner of Clover, S.C., and Gary (Rhonda) Joyner of Kershaw, S.C. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Johnny Odell Sullivan and 2 brothers, Harm Lee Joyner, and William Hoyt Joyner: a brother-in-law, Roy Newman and a sister-in-law, Joni Joyner.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 19, 2023, in the sanctuary of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Jefferson, S.C. Rev. Terry Corder will officiate. The burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will greet friends following the burial in the church Fellowship Hall and other times at the home.
