Frederick Walter Figurski Obituary

Frederick Walter Figurski, of Lugoff, SC, passed away on August 8, 2025. Born on June 7, 1939, in Detroit, MI. Fred was a devoted husband, grandfather, father, brother, and friend, whose love and generosity knew no bounds. 

Fred was a supervisor for Diamant Boart America, and he served in the Army National Guard. He was a skilled carpenter, could often be found in his workshop, creating beautiful pieces with meticulous attention to detail, a reflection of his passion and dedication. He also had a love for golf, a hobby that brought him many hours of enjoyment and companionship. As an active member of the Camden/Lugoff Elks Club, Fred demonstrated his commitment to community service and fellowship. His dedication to his work, hobbies, and community was only surpassed by his love for his family.

Fred is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Sylvia Figurski; three daughters, Cheryl Buff (Ronnie) of Sally, Tammy Figurski (Jennifer Everett) of Gaston, and Kelli Figurski (Rob Acuff) of Columbia; 5 Grandchildren; and 5 greatgrandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Stella Figurski and his sister Joanne Cetnar. As we remember Fred, we are reminded of the passage from Matthew 5:4, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” His memory will forever remain in our hearts, and his example will continue to inspire us.

A celebration of life service will be held at Powers Funeral Home on November 28, 2025 at 4:00 PM. The family will receive friends after the service
