Camden, Jan. 5.-Mrs. Mary Boykin Cantey, wife of Maj. E. B. Cantey, died here January 4 at 1:30 p. m.
Mrs. Cantey came of distinguished ancestry, being the daughter of the gallant Confederate soldier, Col. A H. Boykin, and granddaughter of Capt. Wm. DeSaussure. She exemplified in the highest sense all the charms and graciousness of her inheritance and her death was a great bereavement to her large circle of friends and relations.
She is survived, by her husband, four brothers, Messrs. A. Н., B. H., L. W., and A. J. Boykin and one sister, Mrs. Brown Manning of Camden and the following children: H. B. Cantey of New York, John Cantey, Camden; Harry Cantey, Columbia; E. B. Cantey, Jr., Mobile; Mrs. George Desaussure, Jacksonville, Mrs. A. R. Heyward and Mrs. Heyward Clarkson, Columbia, and Mrs. Benj. Haile, Camden.
The funeral services will be held at Grace Episcopal church Thursday at 3 o’clock.
