Charles Marion Yarbrough Obituary

Charles Marion Yarbrough, of Cassatt, SC, died peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, on January 23, 2026. A graveside memorial service with military honors for Marion, 90, will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Scotch Cemetery. Bishop Gary Rivas will officiate.

Marion was born in Cassatt, SC, the son of the late Charles F. Yarbrough and the late Pauline Hilton Yarbrough.

He was a valued and distinguished member of the Mid-Carolina Field Trial Club since 1964. In the Pointing Dog community, he was recognized as an accomplished official, participant, mentor, and treasured friend. He was inducted into the South Carolina Field Trial Hall of Fame in 2006. Marion proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War, earning a Marksman (Rifle M-1) Good Conduct Medal. He was a supervisor at DuPont for over thirty-five years (35) until retirement.  Marion, often called “Doodle” by his oldest friends, Daddy by his loving daughters, Papa by his grandchildren and Ted by his loving wife, was a cherished family man and respected member of the community of Cassatt.

Marion is survived by his wife, Dorothy Nell McClam; daughters, Sherri Dean (Reggie), of Camden, and Brenda Cincotta (John), of Ridgeway; grandchildren, Josey Dean (fiancé Brayden Lewis), of Columbia, Dr. Matthew Cincotta, of Charlotte, Jessica Cincotta, and Nicholas Cincotta, of Ridgeway.

In addition to his parents, Marion was predeceased by his sister, Margaret Yarbrough Buckholz.

The family wishes to thank and acknowledge with deep gratitude the following ladies for their dedicated and compassionate care and support given to Marion: Beverly Parks, Nicole Glee, Nyasia Joe, Dorothy Davis, Suzy Reynolds, Nora Gatlin, Narsha Washington, and Carolyn Hunter.
