Greenwood native among 2024 class of SC chef ambassadors

Another earthquake rattles the SC Midlands, after a recent flurry of seismic activity

Another earthquake has hit the South Carolina Midlands. A 1.2 magnitude earthquake was recorded in the early hours of Saturday morning near Jenkinsville in Fairfield County, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor hit about 4 a.m., the South Carolina Emergency Management Division said. The earthquake happened about 5 miles beneath Earth’s surface, according to the USGS.
