According to information obtained from the family history of Anna H Curry Todd, George was not a good husband to her. He fathered Martha Dee “Mattie” Todd with Anna, who would become the first postmistress of Harrison County, Kentucky. The family had lived with her family until Anna’s father ordered George to leave the family, and never returned. It is said that he never returned to Cynthiana, and the coupled would divorce. This must have occurred between 1858-1869. He would marry Martha B “Mattie” Lyles, daughter of James V Lyles and Mary Mickle Lyes, and have a son, George Belton Todd.

George R. C. Todd was counted in the census on 08 Jun 1880 in Barnwell, Barnwell, South Carolina, USA, as a 50-year-old, male, white, head of household. Also in the home were; Mattie B. Todd and George B. Todd.

1900

He died on 28 Apr 1900 in Barnwell, Barnwell, South Carolina, USA. He was buried in Camden, Kershaw, South Carolina, USA at Quaker Cemetery
