Dr Charles Herbert Zemp Obituary

One of the saddest deaths that has occurred in our midst in some time was the untimely death of Dr. C.H. Zemp. He was well and happy only last Sunday. But he is no more. He was taken sick Monday morning and had to go home. He rapidly grew worse and became critically ill Tuesday night. He was suffering from appendicitis, which claimed him for a victim about 8 o’clock yesterday morning. Dr. Zemp was a most promising young man and although he had only been in our midst a few months, had gathered around him a host of staunch friends, who admired him for his business qualifications and sterling character. He was in charge of the Zemp’s Pharmacy, and by his close application to business was building up an enviable reputation for the Pharmacy.

Dr. Zemp leaves a young bride who has the heart felt sympathy of everyone of our citizens in this hour of sad misfortune and grief, just at the time when life seemed to spread out before the happy couple and the future seemed to hold in store for them years of you and happiness, the fell destroyer comes along and bursts asunder the happy bands one is taken away almost without warning, while the other is left to mourn.

The remain were taken to his former home, Camden, on the noon train Thursday. Dr. Zemp’s mother, Mrs. E.C. Zemp, his uncle, Dr. S.C Zemp and Mr. W.L. DePass arrived on the early morning train and with the bereaved wife accompanied the remains to Camden.
