Lexington, March 10 -Mrs. Etta Lucas, 93, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. W. Watts, after being ill for the past three years.

She was one of the oldest residents of the community and was highly respected. Her death has caused much sorrow here.

Surviving her are: three sons, Jones Lucas of Swansea, Franklin Lucas of Gaston, John Lucas of Gaston; four daughters, Mrs. J. W. Watts of Lexington, Mrs. Corrie Mack of Swansea, Mrs. Addie Gates of Blaney and Mrs. Ida Sharpe of Gaston. Twenty-four grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services were held at 11 o’clock Saturday at Sardia Methodist church of which she was a faithful member.
