JOHN V. MILES

Lugoff, Jan. 4 – (Special) – John V. Miles, 73, prominent farmer of the lower Lugoff section, died at 12:10 today at his residence after an extended illness.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 o’clock Monday morning from the Salem Methodist church at Blaney by the Rev. Herbert Spell. Interment will follow in the St. Pauls Methodist Church cemetery.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Etta Hornsby Miles of Lugoff; three sons, Fred Miles and Arthur Miles, both of Lugoff and Walter Miles of Detroit, Mich.; seven daughters, Mrs. Ruth Stover of Kershaw, Mrs. Julia Jones and Mrs. Margaret Branham, both of Lugoff, Mrs. Sarah Cameron of Columbia, Mrs. Beaulah Smith of Minneapolis, Minn., Mrs. Almena Boykin of Lugoff and Mrs. Virginia Brazell of Blaney; four brothers, George Miles, Fran Miles and Archie Miles, all of Columbia and Jess Miles of Lykesland and one sister, Mrs. Ida Brazell of Columbia.
