A five-year-old Columbia boy, injured when he was hit by a pickup truck while waiting to cross Two Notch Road, was listed in fair condition at Columbia Hospital Friday Night. Blaney Negro Drowning Victim

CAMDEN, S. C. (AP) – Ralph Salmond, 19-year-old Blaney Negro, drowned Thursday in a private pond near Blaney. Salmond was swimming in the pond and sank in deep water 12 or 15 feet from shore.
