Rally against poker

The Elgin Ministerial Association plans a community wide, anti-video poker rally for 7 p.m. September 18 at Blaney Elementary School, 1621 Smyrna Road in Elgin.

There will be gospel and contemporary Christian music and speeches.

The Rev. Joe Mack, director of Christian life concerns of the S. C. Baptist Convention, will speak.

He is coordinating the Southern Baptist effort to turn out the vote against video poker Nov. 2.

Admission is free, and 33 Elgin- and Lugoff- area churches are expected to participate.
