A memorial service to celebrate the life of Janet Lynn Haigler Morgan, 80, of Camden, will be held at Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at 4:00 PM.The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at 3:00 PMBishop Gary Rivas will officiate. Memorials may be made to The Kershaw County Humane Society. 

Lynn grew up in Camden, where she was a majorette and played basketball for Camden High School.  Lynn was on the 1957 State Champion Basketball Team. She and her sister, Barbara Haigler Wilkes, shared an affection for the sport. Together, they enjoyed March Madness, coffee on the porch, and shagging. Lynn was a member of CLASS, Camden Lugoff Area Shag Society. In 1958, Lynn was Miss Camden and competed in the Miss South Carolina Pageant. 

Lynn and her entire family were often seen gathering at Blackmon’s Little Midget for fellowship, laughter, and a hotdog and Arnold Palmer. 

Lynn loved all animals. Over the years, she adopted numerous dogs and cats, or rather, they adopted her. She also shed love on the children of the families she nannied, where she was lovingly called Lynn-Lynn. 

Lynn died Thursday, September 9, 2021. Born in Bennettsville, SC, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Wesley and Sara Kirkland Haigler.

She is survived by her children,Samuel Terry “Tipp” Dukes, Jr. of Camden, Dawn Dukes Grimaud of Knoxville, Ryan Morgan (Heather) of Camden, and Darby Morgan of Greenville; eight grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and sister, Barbara Wilkes of Camden.
