Obituary of Mathew E. Rhymer

ELGIN- Mathew E. Rhymer, 74, passed away Friday, February 4, 2022 after a long illness. Born in Ridgeway, he was the son of the late Sally Rhymer. Mathew was raised by his grandparents the late Walter Crout and Mildred Crout. Mathew was a truck driver and truly enjoyed his years of driving across the county. After retiring from driving, Mathew just spent time at home watching old movies and westerns. 

    Surviving are his children, Mathew E. Rhymer Jr., (Natalie), Sally R. Romero (Joseph III); grandchildren, Jonas Rhymer, Natalie McDonald (Kaleb), Joseph Romero V, Rebekah Romero; and 5 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Kirkland Rhymer; son, Donald Jason “DJ” Rhymer; and grandson, Joseph Romero IV.

    Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
