Obituary of Emily Hinson Canady

A funeral service for Emily Hinson Canady, 98, will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at El-Bethel Faith Community Church, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. A burial will follow in Hardshell Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the March of Dimes.

Emily Canady passed away March 18, 2022, surrounded by family. She was born May 06, 1923, to the late Charlie Hinson and Fannie Freeman Hinson in Lugoff, South Carolina. Mrs. Canady retired from Charm Manufacturing where she was a Supervisor. She was a wonderful seamstress and enjoyed tending to her garden. She loved her family dearly and was a caretaker when one was in need.

Mrs. Canady was the oldest living member of El-Bethel Faith Community Church.

Surviving is her step-son, Ralph Canady Jr.; step-daughter, Nora Canady; sisters, Bertha Reynolds of Lugoff and El Dora Poeta of Lugoff; brother, Thomas Hinson of Winnsboro and Bobby Hinson; numerous step-grandchildren; a special niece Debbie Hughes (Billy); and nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her first husband Herman Williams; second husband, Ralph Canady; son, Reggie Dean Williams; daughter, Ann Williams; parents; Charlie Hinson and Fannie Freeman Hinson; sisters, Betty H. Ray, Jewell Havice and Mary Ellen Jackson; and brother, Floyd Hinson.
