A memorial service to celebrate the life of Cleo Lybrand Wilson, 93, of Camden, will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, September 29, 2022, at Quaker Cemetery, 713 Meeting Street, Camden, SC. Rev. Cleo died Sunday, September 25, 2022. Born in Ridge Spring, SC, she was the daughter of the late Haymon Nye Lybrand and Lula Ward Lybrand. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Winthrop College. She was a devoted homemaker, volunteering as a pink lady at the local hospital and helping with Sunday School and Vacation Bible School at Lakeview Baptist Church, which she attended for over 50 years.

Cleo is survived by her daughters, Margaret W. Ellis (Irv), of Camden, Susan Wilson, of Charlotte, NC; step granddaughters, Kimberly Neal Thierrien, and Mary Claire Stinson, 5 step great-grandchildren, and her sister, Joan Shealy, of Ridge Spring, SC.

The family would like to thank the staff at Kershaw County Council on Aging and The Legacy at Camden, and San at RetireEase for their care during her final months.

In addition to her parents, Cleo was predeceased by her husband of 41 years, George “Rube” Wilson.
