Obituary of Donald E. “Don” Branham

LUGOFF – Funeral service for Donald Eugene Branham, 85, will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at 6:30 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home.  Private family burial will be held in Fort Jackson National Cemetery, Columbia.  The Rev. Dr. Charles Everett will officiate.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Mr. Branham passed away at home surrounded by his family on Thursday, October 5, 2023.  Born in Camden, he was the son of the late Robert Hobson Branham and Lillie Lometa Hancock Branham.  He served in the United States Army and retired from DuPont in Lugoff.  He adored his family and enjoyed watching Gamecock sports, drinking coffee, shooting pool and woodworking.

Surviving is his wife of 60 years, Barbara Cameron Branham; children, Gina Yount (Ed) of Simpsonville, Donna Hughes (Mike) of Laurens, Donald E. “Bubba” Branham, Jr. of Lugoff, and Dr. Melody Johnson (Jay) of Lugoff; grandchildren, Ashton Yount (Jeremy Getman), Ward Yount (Brittni), Hunter Johnson, Alaine Ingram (Cameron), Claire Crenshaw (Jonah), Channing Hughes, Cameron Johnson, Austin Branham (Nicole), and Jess Hughes; and great-grandchildren, Emma, Lukas, Malachi, and Callie.
