Obituary of Philip Jackson
ELGIN-Phil Jackson, 69, of Lugoff, passed away on October 8, 2023, in Columbia, SC. He was born on April 24, 1954, in Lugoff. Phil was a car enthusiast who enjoyed spending time with his son Justin, exploring car lots and admiring cars. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and had a special place in his heart for his little Yorkie, Mia. Phil was in his element when he was surrounded by his children and grandchildren. He and his daughter, Jennifer, often spent one on one time together meeting for lunch.
Phil is survived by his wife, Ginger of Elgin; his daughter, Jennifer Tolbert (Patrick) of Lugoff; his son, Justin Jackson (Allison) of Columbia; his stepsons, Brian Jeffcoat (Judy) of Gaston, and Christopher Jeffcoat of Irmo; his grandchildren, Jacob, Matthew, Josie and Cameron Jackson, and Megan, Cory, Nicole, and Kes Jeffcoat. He is also survived by his sisters, Pam Bowen (Tim), Yvonne Brazell of Lugoff; brother, John Blume (Darlene); and many nieces and nephews. Phil was predeceased by his parents, Elliott Jackson and Martha Jackson; and siblings, Lloyd Wayne Jackson, Henry “Stonewall” Jackson, Sam Jackson, Michael “Mickey” Jackson, Lois Jackson, Mildred “BeeLee” Jackson, Kathryn Blume, and Sandra Williamson.
He retired from AAAA Flooring after many long and dedicated years. Phil attended various churches and held a deep love for Jesus as his Lord and Savior.
A private family service will be held in honor of Phil Jackson. Powers Funeral Home in Lugoff, SC, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
