Obituary of Michael Odell Bowen

CAMDEN – Funeral service for Michael Odell Bowen, 67, will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Mr. Bowen passed away at home on Saturday, November 4, 2023.  Born in Camden, he was the son of Doris Hatfield Bowen and the late Odell Bowen.  He retired from Dupont in Lugoff after 44 years.  He was an accomplished musician and played in several local bands.  He enjoyed pigeon racing.  Mr. Bowen was a loving husband, father, son, brother, but most of all a proud grandfather.

Surviving are his wife of 29 years, Linda Trivett Bowen; mother, Doris Bowen of Camden; son, Michael Odell Bowen Jr. of Camden; daughter, Nikki Bowen of Elgin; step-children, Brennen Edwards (Ryan) of Dalzell and Tessa Clinton (Robbie) of Camden; sisters, Teresa B. Baker (Larry) of Cassatt and Rhonda Neal (Andy) of Kershaw; and grandchildren, Blake Glock, Odie Bowen, Palmer Bowen, Tanner Edwards and Alex Edwards.

The family extends a special thanks to MUSC Kershaw Health Hospice, Mrs. Martha, and Mrs. Sarah for their loving care.
