Lexington, SC – Alice Elizabeth “Betty” Hopkins Lydon, 82, died Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at Agape Hospice House of Lexington, South Carolina.

Mrs. Lydon was born September 9, 1941, in Charleston, South Carolina to Oley Gifford Hopkins and Lillian May Brazell. She graduated from Columbia High School in Columbia, South Carolina. She married Michael John Lydon on May 19, 1968, and together they had one child, Kevin Michael Lydon.

Alice was known for her sense of humor, unconditional care for her brothers, Robert and Gifford and always thinking of others. In her free time, she enjoyed watching college football, listening to music, and shopping. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and sister.

Alice is predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Michael John Lydon, and is survived by her son, Kevin Michael Lydon of Alpharetta, GA; brother, Jack Hopkins of West Columbia, SC; and brother, Gary Hopkins (Karen) of Elgin, SC.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2024 in Elmwood Cemetery. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family. Memories may be shared at www.dunbarfunerals.com.
