Obituary for Mrs. Patricia Ann Snipes

Patricia Ann (Smith) Snipes was born in Anderson, SC to Proctor A. and Dorothy Martin Smith on November 11, 1934. She retired from the Richland County Treasurer’s Office as a Delinquent Tax Collections Manager. She loved gardening and spending time with her beloved dogs. She also enjoyed taking part in the Seniors Group and OASIS Choir. In her later years, she enjoyed sitting on her front porch and visiting with friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Edward Snipes, Sr.; daughter, Dorothy Elizabeth McAdams, of Clovis, NM; brother, William David Smith, of Tecate, Mexico; brother, Proctor A. Smith, of Elgin, SC; sister, Alma Hammond, of Anderson, SC; and brother, Samuel Smith, of Lexington, SC.

She is survived by her five sons, Harold, Jr. (Angie), Victor, Rodney (Donna), Mark and David (Gloria); as well as six grandchildren.

The service for Mrs. Snipes will be held at noon on Saturday, March 23rd at Beulah United Methodist Church, 8564 Winnsboro Rd., Blythewood, SC, with the Rev. Robert V. McDowell officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church beginning at 11 o’clock. A private burial will precede the service in the church cemetery. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Beulah United Methodist Church, or to Pawmetto Lifeline, 1275 Bower Parkway, Columbia, SC 29212.
