LUGOFF SC – Franklin Delano Maples Sr. Maples passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2024. Born in Rock Hill, SC, he was a son of the late Ruffus Byrum, and Gertrude Eulla Gallman Maples. Mr. Maples served in the US Army and retired from the City of Columbia where he worked in traffic engineering. He was a member of Springvale Baptist Church and was a member of Blythewood Masonic Lodge #395. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and spending time with his family. 

Surviving are his children; daughters, Sharon Dickert (Charlie) of Prosperity, Jane Cook (Clayton) of Lugoff; sons, Ed Argoe (Lee) of Columbia, and David Argoe (Kim) of Prosperity; daughters-in-law, Gina Maples of Blythewood, Wendy Elmore (Chris) of Elgin, and Mary Argoe of Irmo; sister, Elizabeth McCarty (Byron); grandchildren, Shannon Faldrowicz (Lee), Chad Dickert (Heather), Edward Argoe (Stephanie), Tanya Curtis (Bill), Mandy Ward (Cliff), Allison Brown (Casey), Alex Argoe, Cameron Argoe, Summer Eargle, Jesse Session, Kendra Argoe, Mathis Argoe, Lanny Gunter (Leigh), Stacey Hood, Jennifer Cook, Brooke Thomas (Brady), Amy Blease, Katie Krumrey (Jake), Isaiah Blease, Ella Blease, and Taylor Cervantes (Genaro); 27 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife, Lois Headden Maples; a son, Franklin Delano Maples, Jr.; brothers, Billie B. Maples, Darryl B. Maples Sr.; and sisters, Frances Grafton, Sylvia Ivie, and Millie Ward.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Springvale Baptist Church Building Fund.
