Obituary of Robert “Bob” Zila

CAMDEN – A funeral service for Robert Frank “Bob” Zila, 86, will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at Powers Funeral Home. The Rev. Mark Abel will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. A private burial will be held in Quaker Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society.  

Mr. Zila, husband of the late Etta Singleton Zila, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2024. Born in La Porte, IN, he was the son of the late Frank Zila and Ethel Schwarzkopf Zila. Robert enjoyed bowling, golfing, and puzzles. He was an avid sports fan and his favorite teams were the Chicago Cubs and Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Surviving are his children, Arlene Joseph (Clifford) of Camden, SC, Sharon Hardin of Kingsford Heights, IN, and Dale Zila (Marcy) of Elgin, SC; 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Frank Zila. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Zila.
