Obituary of William J. Cassidy

CASSATT- A funeral service for William Jennings Cassidy, 94, will be held Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The Rev. Tim Broughton will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

    Mr. Cassidy passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2024. Born in Patrick, he was a son of the late Wade Lawrence and Ila Mae Stroud Cassidy. Mr. Cassidy retired from DuPont after 42 years of service. He enjoyed gardening, spending time with family, and cars.

    Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Annie Evelyn Cook Cassidy; children, Darrell Cassidy (Brenda) of Camden, Randy Cassidy (Debbie) of Bethune, Tammie Johnson of Camden, Robin McMullen (Michael) of Columbia, Don Broughton (Renee’) of Camden, Rev. Tim Broughton (Peggy) of Cassatt; 16 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great grandchildren. He was predeceased by children, Freddie Cassidy, Wayne Broughton; and siblings, Luke Cassidy, Davis Cassidy, Annie Sue Griggs, Nathan Wade Cassidy, Olin Cassidy, and Freddie Cassidy.
