Obituary of Henry Alvin Waites

Kershaw – A service to celebrate the life of Henry Alvin Waites, 76, will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. at Oak Ridge Baptist Church.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Waites passed away on Friday, May 2, 2025 at MUSC Downtown Columbia.  Born in Camden, he was the son of the late Eddie and Elizabeth Waites.  He retired from Springs Industries in Kershaw and was a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church.  He enjoyed gardening.

Surviving are his son, Thomas Christopher Waites (Gina) of Mt. Pleasant; daughter, Tina Hunter (Kevin) of Kershaw; sisters, Mable Welch of Florida and Barbara Ray of Bishopville; brother, Eddie Waites, Jr. of Lancaster; grandchildren, Justin Waites, Davis Waites, Jayden West, Ryan Hunter and Camryn Hunter; and great-grandchildren, Robert Ross Waites, Ashton Hunter, Isabella Hunter, and Anderson Bowers.
