Charles Calven Jackson, known as “Punk” by his friends and family, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at MUSC Kershaw Health Medical Center. Born on August 16, 1945, in Camden, S.C., Charles was a true son of the South, whose strong character and endearing charm left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him.

Charles was a man of many talents and interests. His career as a mechanic spanned over 30 years at DuPont, demonstrating his dedication and hard work. Outside of his profession, Charles was known for his green thumb and his ability to create a bountiful harvest from his garden. Friends and neighbors often enjoyed the fruits of his labor, especially his renowned produce and sausage. Charles also had a knack for hunting and trapping coyotes, skills that he honed with precision and his own patience. He also found great joy in playing the banjo and guitar.

Beyond his many achievements, Charles was a devoted father and a proud veteran of the United States Navy, having served his country honorably in the Dominican Republic. His resilience, strength, and unwavering spirit were an inspiration to all. Charles was preceded in death by his wife Evon Pittman Jackson; daughter, Wanda Earlene Jackson; parents, James Lee and Alice Ruth Anderson Jackson; and brothers, Billy Jackson; and sister, Betty Wagner.

He leaves behind his loving daughters, Sharon J. Blakeney (Rodger) of Lugoff, and Jennifer Stokes (Scott) of Camden; grandchildren, Charlie Jeffers (Justin), Andy Stokes (Megan), Leah Stokes, Eden Stokes, Garland Stokes (Amanda), and Hunter Stokes; and great-grandchildren, Abby Jeffers, Jack Jeffers, Jase Jeffers, Paisleigh Stokes, and Beau Stokes.
