John Henry Shannon,47, Blaney, was found dead in bed early this morning.

The body is at Paschal Funeral Home and the family is at the residence in Blaney.

John Henry Shannon,47, of Route 2 Blaney, died at his home Wednesday.

Born in Richland County, Mr. Shannon was the son of the late Taylor Shannon and Hattie Medlin Shannon.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Onnie Shannon; three sons, G. T. Shannon and Cecil Shannon of Blaney and Otis Shannon; a sister, Mrs. Patsy Ruff of Griffin, Ga; two brothers, Edward Shannon of Blaney and Walter Shannon of Columbia and four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 5 p.m. Saturday, from the Alpine Baptist Church on Percival Road by the Rev. Claude Hightower and the Rev. Alvin Flemming. Burial will be in the church yard.

Active pallbearers will be Fred Peak, Ernest Miles, Otto Jacobs, Dalton Medlin, Clarence Jones and Leroy Peak.

Honorary Pallbearers will be George Eltson, Vernon Brazell, Clarence Miles, Brown Ross, Clyde Lee Roberts, Wesley Starlon, Joe Jones, Earl Jacobs, Gabor Sarvas, Jessie Brazell, Lindsay Brazell, Allen Richardson, Lynn Ford. Roger Ellisor and Lonnie Jacobs.

The body is at Paschal Funeral Home.

Funeral services for John Henry Shannon, of Rt. 2, Blaney, who died Wednesday at his home, will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, in the Alpine Baptist Church in Columbia by the Rev. Claude Hightower and the Rev. Alvin Flemming.

Active pallbearers will be Fred Peak, Ernest Miles, Otto Jacobs, Dalton Medlin, Clarence Jones and Leroy Peak.
